The assessment session lasts for one and a half hours (all subsequent sessions will last for an hour.) During the first part of the session I will be asking you a lot of questions in order to identify what you would like to work on, so I am able to begin to put together a personalised plan for you. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have.
If you feel comfortable working with me the last part of the session will be spent giving you a taster of how it feels to go into a trance state.
At no point will you be unconscious and I will not attempt to take you into trance if you do not feel ready.
There are no right or wrong ways to feel when you go into trance state, it varies from person to person. Some examples of how you might feel would be:- experiencing the relaxed feeling you have just before you drift off to sleep, or you might feel wide awake and as if you could open your eyes at any time.
You are in control at all times. If at any point you feel uncomfortable we will stop the process until you feel happy to continue.
Going into trance is like most things, it takes practice. The more you do it the better you get at it. You will probably find your ability to go into trance will increase throughout our work and that you are able to go into a deeper trance state as our work progresses.
At this stage of the therapy you will not be asked to do or say anything whilst in a trance state. The purpose is simply to relax and enjoy.
Towards the end of the session we will agree whether or not we are going to work together, and if we are we will put a date in the diary for our next meeting and discuss how many sessions we may need.
